Throughout the year, we hold multiple fundraising activities and encourage our staff to be proactive and get involved with the organisation.
Dragon Boat Race 2019 - Rob Metcalfe & Sarcoma UK
In 2019, one of our colleagues, Beth, received the news that her husband, Rob, had been diagnosed with terminal Synovial Sarcoma Cancer. In an effort to enable Rob and Beth to make more memories with 2 year old son, Caleb, we set out to raise as much as possible for the family.
Holt participated in a local Dragon Boat Race competition and, although we didn't win, we managed to raise an amazing £1,085.00 for the family and Sarcoma UK.
It was a pleasure raising money for Beth and Rob, and a good day was had by all the 'Incredible Holt' rowing team.
Every December, we hold a Christmas competition and money raised goes to the chosen charity.
In 2019, we're running an advent calendar for our staff to raise money for our Support Dogs. We've teamed up with local businesses that have donated prizes for each day for all our staff members that have entered to have a chance at winning.
In 2018, we hosted a 'best dressed desk' competition and the team with the best Christmas decorations won all the money for their chosen charity. This meant we managed to raise an amazing £1,000 for the Leeds Children's Heart Surgery Fund.
In 2017, we were proud to support Young Minds - the UK’s leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people. We managed to raise £500 for this charity, through a12 days of Christmas Competition that the public was encouraged to get involved in.
Throughout 2018
We encouraged our staff to take part in #NHS1000Miles. As a company, we set ourselves a goal of being more active and wanted to collectively run, walk, cycle, swim etc 50,000 miles and raise money for various charities while doing this. Holt employees raised money for many worthy causes including, The Christ Brown Trust, St Mary's Hospice, Headway Brain Injury Foundation, Alzheimer's UK, Cancer Research.
We also supported our local park by donating £750 to help the council build a brand new climbing frame which opened in April 2019.
Yearly charity days
We also like to get in involved with more general charities each year, including Sports Relief, Children in Need and Macmillan Cancer Support.
