Key points for eligibility
The UK's Health and Care visa is a specialised category introduced to recruit overseas healthcare professionals for the NHS and wider healthcare sector. To be eligible for this visa, certain criteria must be met:

Job offer – You must have a job offer from a UK employer, such as an NHS organisation, a registered medical practice, or a publicly funded social care provider. The job should be at RQF level 6 or above, typically requiring a bachelor's degree or higher.

Professional qualifications – As a qualified doctor, you should hold a recognised medical qualification enabling practice in the country of issuance. Additionally, you must have completed an acceptable period of postgraduate clinical training.

English language proficiency – Demonstrating English language proficiency through an approved test is necessary, unless exempt (e.g., If you've completed a degree in English-speaking countries).

Salary threshold – the NHS utilises a system of salary bandings to pay staff, with a specific category of bandings for doctors that considers experience and seniority in posts. When applying for NHS positions you would know what the salary banding for the position available but experience from overseas would need to be considered to confirm the salary, if an offer of employment is made.

Maintenance funds – You must have sufficient funds to support yourself in the UK without relying on public funds, though specific requirements may vary.
Once eligible, you can apply for the Health and Care visa, usually granted for up to 5 years and 14 days or the employment contract's duration, whichever is shorter. After spending a certain period (typically 5 years) in the UK, you may qualify for settlement (indefinite leave to remain) and potentially British citizenship, subject to meeting necessary criteria.
